Google Summer Retro Retreat

Each year Google hosts a themed party for their sales team and their clients, and this year we jumped on board to execute some of their activations that ran throughout the afternoon event. Produced by Caroline Kemp, the elaborate Breakfast Point Country Club in Sydney was transformed into 50's inspired Retro Palm Springs. This fabulous theme allowed for over the top props and decorations and it turned out to be a spectacular production.

The Beauty Salon

The beauty salon offered make-up artists giving 50's inspired looks to guests and it ended up being a really popular activation. We were briefed to turn the space into a retro beauty salon, so of course we sourced glamorous Hollywood mirrors, hot pink chairs and an oversized prop red lipstick which sat atop the stairs.

The Tennis Club

The Tennis Club setting needed to be an interactive space where guests could play on the tennis, sit on the bench and watch or sit and relax while having a drink from the nearby bar. There was a tennis instructor on hand to give players pointers, and a costume basket so that they could dress up to really get an authentic tennis club look. The trophy and prize table was stocked with  take-homes as gifts for guests, which always adds to the experience.

Signage

Signage for the party needed to have theme continuity throughout, and we came up with information signs and menus in pastel colours with different fruity borders as well as a mud map of the location and all the activities going on. The signs were A1 size and had a strong impact when propped up on easels.
